    Thumbs up La Bourgogne

Is, barring none, the absolute best dining experience in Buenos Aires. And is better than the Tour d'Argent, Maxine's or the Ritz in Paris at about one tenth the price.

I stumbled upon the Combattants Anciens Francaise about 2 years ago during my extensive walkabout the Constitution whoare neighborhood (it is right in the epicenter half way down the block from Charly Bar on Pavon). I made a mental note to return to check it out but never did. As an old combatant of French Indochina and past Chef du Gare of the Paris Post, I thought I'd be welcome with open arms.

After Hunt's tip, I did return, twice. But it was never open. I also called both numbers on their web site. One did not take messages and the other one's message box was full. I asked the block cop who told me there was usually someone there about 6pm. I loitered about smartly until dark (9pm) and no one. I think they are closed for summer vacation.

By the way, the hood is still crawling with whoares and a few travies during the day. About 6pm the travies start coming out in force. I would not recommend being out and about alone after dark.

    This is their website

The last time my buddy was there he said the duck kinda sucked but it was early January. Before Lomo closed used to have some problems there in January as well, the Chef was on vacation.

Once I went there at lunch with some buddies and we just ordered the whole menu.

What ever you have, for desert have the chocolate cake with ice cream, next to Rominas pussy it's the best tasting thing in the city I think. Ok it's sweeter than her pussy but she does have some nice pussy.

They have really good food and the dinner theater is unique and funny, it's all in Castillano of course but I enjoy it. If they still have the puppet show go on that night.
