Medical Travel Insurance

A friend of mine was involved in a motorcycle accident in China and got seriously injured. He had med evacuation insurance from this company: http://www.medjetassistance.com/default.asp?partner=

He said it was a hassle free experience. He was flown back to California and to his hometown hospital in San Francisco with a nurse in attendance.

The annual cost seems a bit pricey, but worthwhile if you have to be flown home. I'd buy it if I did more overseas traveling or engaged in a risky sport.

Well, I hate to mention this, but after having a heart attack last year, I was thinking that it may not be a bad idea to seek information on. I am going to BA April 21st for 9 days. Last year I had a heart attack (stint put in) and was wondering the following. Has anybody looked into emergency medical insurance? The kind that will airlift you to US, if you have a problem.

Needless to say, my health is great now, but I would have never thought that I would have a heart attack last year. You never know.

Also, I will not be taking any viagra or other medications.
