In response to my query several days ago Thomaso276 was kind enough to let me know about Suntek. Thanks Thomaso276! Just picked up the laptop today and it does indeed seem to be fixed. (I say seem because the nature of the problem was that it had to be running for awhile before the problem occurred. They had the machine for 2 days and a few hours and the total cost was $240 pesos. I am not sure exactly what it needed.

I dealt with at least two people there who spoke enough English so that we could communicate effectively.

Do they do laptops as well as desktops? Do they speak English?

Toshiba recommended Altronic, Maipu 4182, 114-711-5700 and 114-298-7088. Does anyone know if they speak English? I sent them a message via their web site 2 days ago and they have not responded.
