This article I think explains the Gov'ts angle. They are "rescuing" these poor girls from slavery! (LOL!) In some instances that might be true and when it is I'm all for it. But if you follow their lead, every sex worker in Argentina is working against their will. This gives the Gov't a lot of international press and prestige when they "release" them from slavery! . I believe I read recently that Argentina and Cristina recently received some honors or awards for being so diligent in fighting against the illegal trafficking of people , etc. Etc. .......

If those women had been walking the streets would there be a legal basis for a crackdown? If not, calling it a "rescue" seems dumb.
    Indeed. It's dumb.

Street walking also requires some pimping. Otherwise it's a target for easy robbery.

Denial of a safer place it's another word to say "we think prostitution must be terminated" since any other place such as a bar, club or a brothel should be organized by a third person.

Cigars. This article sums it up well - http://landingpadba.com/where-to-buy...-buenos-aires/ except the place at 399 independencia is bullshit. Its a rinky dink convenience store with a residential humidor that doesn't have real Cuban cigars, let alone any decent smoking cigars at all. Just rough smokes.

420 - best bet, San Telmo. I smelled it off of people outside of English pub and valentinos. I also smelled it at the Sunday morning street fair on Defensa. Just sniff around and if you smell it on someone, ask! Its not difficult. If you see someone with funky dreds, they probably imbibe. For the most part, what you see is what you get over here.

Exchange rate. Right now its 11.70 to the dollar on Florida St. There is a side mall I use just outside of Deportes Blue. BTW, I know nobody asked, but in case anybody is curious, Deportes Blue is the best place to buy running shoes because you won't get ripped off like you will elsewhere and you will get badass quality shoes! The Puma store and the Nike store are garbage.

Food prices. Very weird. I just don't get it. For a basic breakfast, (cheese sandwich, scrambled eggs, coffee) its 8 USD. But for a knock you off your feet steak dinner its only 4 dollars more! Fresh fruits are the best way to go but for about 4.5 lbs worth avg you will still walk out spending 12 USD and that too from the local market near Defensa (the historic one). Its nothing to cry about but it just makes me go "huh? Veggies here are fresh, but they are not particularly crisp like they are back home. You may get a touch of travelers runs but a dose of Immodium will clean that right up. Good artisan / specialty beer, wine, cheese, ice cream, and butter are fantastic quality and cheaper than back home. But water is 2 USD for 1.5 gallon. Of course lets not forget about the golden rule of location, location, location. These are approximations based on a first class tenderloin, in a first class restaurant: in San Telmo - 12.5 USD! In Recoleta - 85 USD in Puerto Madero - 95 USD.

So whether or not you get more for your peso will be a question of whether or not a given restaurant is appropriate for its location. For example, lets pick on Osaka. Its a Japanese Peruvian fusion place. Its run like a high-end, 4 star restaurant. The food is unique, and it doesn't really have a place outside of Puerto Madero. It is where it belongs. Avg lunch there will cost you 65 USD. Compare that to a 5 star restaurant I went to in Recoleta where I walked out spending 35 USD, but it served traditional cuisine. I got more for my money in Recoleta but when else am I going to get Japanese Peruvian fusion? See what I mean! but if I just wanted a tenderloin, I see absolutely no reason why I should pay 85 when I can pay 12.50. I simply can not justify it. I have had the best meat money can buy (outside of real Japanese kobe), and I can tell you that past a certain point, the differences are more subtle than not.

I know this was long winded, but I wrote it with not just you in mind, but anybody else who comes by with the same questions. I hope it was helpful.

Don't worry about these guys. I usually just walk right by, sometimes with a brief glance of acknowledgement, like I've been there hundreds of times before.

In case I need help finding the elevator (rare) I'll ask. On rare occasion they ask where you are going, just say to floor X. And if they ask for the exact apartment just state it matter of fact. If they ask why say to see a friend. Although I'm sure some of them know the deal or wouldn't care, I would refrain from saying you are going to see a chica for massage or sex. Again I think it is uncommon they ask where you are going, and even less common ask the reason why.

Most, if not all, privados will provide outcall. Always they want taxi fare and sometimes an hour of outcall is more than an hour of incall.

The published telephone numbers are usually of the privado.

    Questions about privados

    Hi Guys.

I was not in BA for 3 jears. That time I had a friend there which did know where to go.

This time I will stay for 3 days and will arrive on Sunday. Reading the forum I figured not some things out.

    So my questions

    Sunday.

    - Which privados are open on Sunday. Any recommendations?

    - Any other advice for a boring Sunday afternoon except for sightseeing?

    Privados

    - Are there any privados where you can take out a chica. What I prefer to do?

    - Which privados have good selection right now. And are recomended at the moment?

Another thing which I did not really get out of the forum are the escort pages (never used in BA)

    - Most girls there work in privados as far I understand. So they come to the hotel as well or you have to go to there place anyway?

-The telefon numbers are agencys or direct the girls?

-Thats probably the way to find someone for me on Sunday or?

    And finally Clubs.

    - Last time I was in Crocodilos in the morning. When it got crowded from all the other clubs. I liked it much better there because chicas where free. Could negitiate what they want. So I found one which stayd the next day with me. I did read the last reports but it seems now its very professional there with regular working girls. So that did change or still the same?

Thanks for the help guys. Some advice would be great.

Vicente Lopez and San Isidro along the hill top that runs along the river.

There are some really beautiful places.

    Mansions and Villas, etc.

Not in that price range but you can find something I'm sure.

    Safe is hard to say!
