One thing that the various articles I've read about women prostitutes in Argentina never seem to mention - most of the ladies are making far more money than, say, guys who work an "honest" job digging ditches, who are relatively skillless. In a society where the government pretty much screws everyone except those in power and those who are friends with those in power and those who have large sums of money, prostitutes often live better lives than, say, live-in maids who are often treated as slaves at worst or servants at best. There are so many hold-overs from feudal days remaining in Argentina and other Latin American countries, but without any of the "noblesse oblige" that was supposed to have gone along with feudalism.

Well this article doesn't add anything to what everybody in the world already knows. Prostitution is not exclusive of the argentinean society, it happens around the world. Some ladies are forced some do it voluntarily. Sex slavery is disgusting and should be banned at all costs.

Actually, I do know. It's the puritanical attitude towards sex that we have.

Sure there is social stigma related to that particular job, but I know guys who have worked construction for 30 years that can barely even walk now. Unless we are lucky, we all sell something to pay the rent.
