    Water cooler

I just had a guy bring me a Thermaltake Water 2.0 Pro http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007UIX1M4/...SIN=B007UIX1M4.

Before installing it, the idle temp on my desk top was around 30 degrees see under stress, about 70-75. Since putting it in, the idle temp is 19-20 and I'm converting a video right now, it's been running at 98-99 percent CPU load for 5 minutes and the temp on all 6 cores is holding at 32 see. Lets see how long it lasts but I'm amazed at the results so far.

It took about an hour to install and I had to lose one case fan to do it.

    Cheap hardware

I recently found a place selling hardware remarkably cheaply, having previously always headed for Galería Jardín (Florida 500).

The USB DJ Controller I wanted was $6800 in Galería Jardín and ranged from $5400. $6600 from a dozen different suppliers on MercadoLibre. Eagle Informatica have it for $2900, which is the USD equivalent of what you'd pay for it in the US!

I haven't checked out their whole range, but the 2 DJ Controllers they have are both at a similar levels of cheapness.

    Tech stuff

This is a thread starter because I found a free application that's really cool. I didn't know where else to put this so I put it here. If there is another thread like this I didn't see it. (There's only 532 threads in chit chat alone).

If anybody has more than one computer (I'm transitioning from my laptop back to my desktop since I liberated my desktop from the living room at the AP house) but there is a lot of stuff I really don't want to stop using on my laptop in case I ever run screaming into the night, I didn't want to redo outlook, iTunes, blah blah blah. I want it ready to go in case I ever take a trip and I don't like the touchpad and keyboard on the laptop and I didn't want to buy a switch.

I found this app call "Input Director" http://www.inputdirector.com/ it's free, easy to set up, and works like a charm. It makes the mouse go off the edge of my screen and right on to my laptop (it's a software KVM for us tech guys). It's not like adding another monitor, I can't move a window from the desktop to the laptop, but if I have both running I can just use my desktop mouse and keyboard for both.

The web site says they can share a clipboard for small stuff so if I want to highlight a link, or url, or small block of text I can copy it from one and paste it to the other but I haven't tried that yet. There are versions for Mac, PC, and Linux.

I'd like to see this thread develop into stuff people use, media managers, email apps, even tablet stuff, maybe simple "my computer is doing this, what the hell do I do things.

Anyway, I found this and so far it's great. Hope it helps.

    DR.
