Coming in from EZE I was eager to dust off my bad spanish, and touch on some of the Argentina questions that have been discussed on AP. My driver had plenty to say, though like most argies they dont slow down at all when you obviously dont speak spanish well. So I missed some things but understood most. First off, this guy hates Christina with a passion. Although on the debt issue, he felt the country could not pay the holdouts as long as the RUFO clause was in effect, but that after it expires they should probably be paid (he didn't seem very strong on that point). He didn't think the government supported private business enough, and that Argentina needed to be more responsible. As we drove down 9 de Julio he pointed to a group of people in the park seemingly enjoying the day, and described them as slaves. "Son esclavos" or something like that. Because they and 12 million others in Argentina get 3000 pesos a month from the government and they have no will to work. I asked how that compared with a low-paying job, he said someone at McDonalds probably makes 5000 pesos a month. Given the population of Argentina is about 43 million, 12 million on permanent welfare seems way high.

I know this is old news to the locals on AP, but thought it interesting to hear directly from a taxi driver.

First day went unusually smooth. Flight left an hour late (not uncommon) but still had enough time between flights to make my connection to BA. Can´t say enough good things about the LAN flight down to SCL, spacious seats, electronic window dimmers, great movie selection. Flight was almost full but there was an empty seat next to me so had some extra space. Flight arrived in BA on time, and I had only a 2 minute wait to go through customs. Unbelievable, can´t recall going through that fast in ages. Short wait for luggage, made a stop in EZE to make a phone call and buy a 50 peso calling card. Then off to my apartment. I use a calling card for apartment rentals, the owner doesn´t need to see all the chica numbers I call. Official taxi from EZE was 400 pesos (or $47 US). A good reason to keep some pesos for future trips since at the blue rate 400 pesos is only $31 US. Love the apartment, a really nice 1-bedroom in Recoleta. Headed out to change some dollars, hit Brisa Spa for 1.5h, bought some supplies and got a manicure and pedicure, met up for a great dinner, and finished the night at Hook with a solid "9" in my book. Can´t believe I found this hottie on my first night. Young, slim, brunette, natural DD and fairly new to Hook. Honestly, I put her in my top 10 best tits of all time (and my list is quite long). Will definitely repeat.
