    Closed

I heard the place is gone.

Although they have a Facebook page that was active on the 25th of Dec.

    It's ok

I go there on the rare occasion when 180 is closed. The burger is pretty good if you can keep them from over cooking it, but their bread is really dry. I am shocked to find that Antonio is involved there. I've eaten at Astor a bunch of times and his food is sublime. I'm thinking they are giving him some money to put his name on it. Got to be.

If you haven't tried 180 yet, put it high on the list. Christian is a burger god. Agreed Burger Joint has shit burgers. One of the kids who works there tried to tell me that their fry guy used to work at Les Halles and they did their fries the same way. I almost choked to death laughing. I would rather have my sister working in a whorehouse than have my son eating at Burger Joint. It's sad because they used to be pretty good, then got busy and went to a frozen patty I think. 180 grinds the meat, bakes the buns, cuts the fries fresh every day.

I got the double bacon chedder and it was a great burger. High quality beef. I think its sourced from PIAF as well. I came across it walking aroung looking for cambio by Florida a couple days ago. Its on Maipu off of Cordoba. Definitely worth a try. A combo costs less than a mcdonalds combo. I think that's the idea.

I personally like it better than burger joint. The beef is much better quality and not as dry. Almost perfect fat to beef ratio. And 160 grams which for me is perfect. I find the 180 patty to be a little too big.

    Illegal Burger

Yet another burger place but close to the AP House. Talcahuano 959 (just about next door to el Cuartito).

180 gram burger with your choice of toppings, fresh ground 80/20 beef, home made buns, fresh cut fries.

I got a bacon (pancetta) burger with fries and a coke for 82 pesos. They are new so they are working a lot of shit out. The burger was pretty good, well seasoned, not overcooked. The only draw back was it was falling apart, not my favorite way to eat a burger. The fries came out way underdone. When I told the guy he didn't have the kid cook them some more, he had him drop a fresh order and the second time around they were really good.

The owner is a guy named Juan, he used to be an opener for TGI Fridays and speaks perfect English. (he told me he has US Citizenship as well).

Hours are Monday through Friday 11:30 to 5. He plans on starting to be open until midnight Thursday and Friday soon but not yet. He needs to do something more with the space, it looks kind of dingy.

On balance, I would give him 6 out of 10 overall today. They are new, I like to give new places three tries before I accept or reject. At this point 180 is still the king IMHO though.
