Well your story did surprise me because it reminds me of a pretty young thing many years ago, she was 20 back then, she had a 3 or 4 year old kid and it was the same story. Why? Age gaps alone does not explain this. I am 45 - 3 years older - and regularly date women that are in mid to late 20's, and very eligible in the US. In Colombia and the DR - my most frequent destinations - age is a non issue entirely. I remember a couple of years ago age gaps and league gaps surprised me. I was aware of them and they made me feel uncomfortable, tense, and not suave. I have come to EXPECT it nowadays, and that has made a very large difference.

Of course, I recognize that there are transactions in every relationship. When a man of our age dates a significantly younger woman, there are financial benefits that accrue to the female, one way or the other, pro or non pro.
