I had booked a studio apartment by ByTArgentina. I liked the one I stayed in last year, but wanted to change areas (Variety, as Mickey Mouse says), and get closer to Recoleta.

After I announced that I was coming Jackson offered his swinging Recoleta pad, but unfortunately it wasn´t within my budget. My goal is to take at least 4 months off a year, so sometimes you have to sacrifice some of the comforts for more time. I do recommend it, as it´s a very nice pad.

I´m not too picky, just need some place clean with a decent bed. The pictures looked decent, though it was probably more in the Belgrano district than Recoleta. I get to the apartment at a few minutes after 10am. I ring the bell, and the lady says she´ll come down.

A minute later the ByT rep comes and a minute after that the lady makes it down to open the door.

For $140US a week, I wasn´t expecting something luxurious. I had looked at about 50 apartments online, and the location, pictures and such looked nice at this one.

I get up there with my bags, and the apartment looks basic, but okay. However, I take a look a the bed, and it looks like a $5 futon mattress. I lay down on it, and there is no way in hell it´s going to work for me. Totally soft, really thin, and no support for my big ass.

There is another sofa that I think I can sleep on. I´m not too picky, but am tired as hell. I check it and it´s softer than the other one. Sheeeeeeeeit. I ask if she has another bed she can put in there. No.

(Yes, I know I should have gone down the checklist that was posted here a few weeks ago. The apartment last year was fine, so I never even thought that someone would rent out an apartment with a crappy futon mattress. I´m coming back next month as well, and will view THAT property before I leave.)

There´s just no way I will be able to walk, after sleeping in such a bed. I tell her it won´t work. She takes it well, and the rental agent guy, gives me the card to the office and tells me to go there. They flag me a taxi, and I pay the fare.

There are no markings on the building, so I´m hoping the taxi brought me to the right place. He did. I must keep the faith. It must end sooner or later, eh?

I get up there, and wait, and wait, and wait. Some more people come in with Delta tags on their luggage. We were probably on the same flight. While the ByTArgentina people were pleasant, saying they were slow would be a compliment.

After 45 minutes, a girl finally gets with me. I´m not too picky, and just want something decent. A lady who came in just after me, was there to give the new pictures for an apartment in Recoleta. After another 25 minutes, the cute ByT Chica (Anna, I think), came back and offered her studio to me. Normally $190US per week, but only $170 since the cable and phone weren´t hooked up yet. The cable is supposed to be on in a couple of days.

They ask if I want to look at it. Sure, I say. I can leave my luggage at the office. I decline, saying that if I like it, I want to sleep! I´ll take the luggage with me. They tell me it will take 45 minutes to an hour to get the contract done. I tell them that I´m quite exhausted. I then realize that I´m starving as well. I ask if there is any food place nearby. Sure. I tell them that I´ll be back in 30 minutes. Now they say they´ll be ready in 5 minutes. Okay. I´ll wait.

At this point, Anna, now asks me if I know that I´ll have to pay 20% of the first rental since I didn´t take it. I said that since the apartment was deficient, I certainly was not going to pay it. If a reasonable bed had been available, I would have been asleep there already. She kept trying, but I was adamant, and she dropped it. (I think. Note, check credit card.)

We get to the apartment, and it´s a 10th floor at Guido and Pueyrredon. I´m hoping for a good view. No such luck. I get to see the bathroom windows for the other apartments. Probably 20 square meters at the most. It is a ¨virgin¨ refurbished departamento, and I´m it´s first resident. Mostly nice, new bed, etc. Nicely furnished. The bathroom has a shower that has a bidet built into it, and is pretty old. It´s so small that I can barely turn around in the damn thing.

However, despite the shower, overall it´s nice. The rental agent goes over the contract, and there are about 3 mistakes. The first one was in my favor (Only charging for 1 week instead of 15 days), the others were mixed. All the mistakes were fixed. I got the departure time altered so I could stay until I had to leave for the airport.

I forked over the money (170US per week, $364 for 15 days), plus $25 ByT booking fee. You also pay one week deposit, which I´ll get back at the end if I haven´t trashed the place.

Since I was starving, I had them point me the way to the Village Recoleta Mall. I knew there were lots of places there to eat. As I walk there, I notice some vaguely familar names. Rouge, Sodoma, and the the infamous Madahos Pub.

I keep walking along the tall brick wall, and then see the McDonalds sign that is right across the street from Jackson´s bachelor pad. I then realize that the cemetary is behind the big wall I´ve been walking by.

I see a pizza place (Le Continental) and go in. I get a pizza and some empanadas to go. I head back home, and stop by an nice mini-market next to Sodoma. The Asian lady was quite nice, I picked up some drinks and walked around the corner to my place.

I eat a few empanadas and a couple of slices of pizza and then hit the sack. The end of a looooooongggg day.

Well it seems I´ve only been on airplanes for the last week. I´d been in Peru last week, flew back to the the US, then came back to SA 4.5 days later.

I guess I´m a sucker for cheap airplane tickets. I had burned 35K miles for a coach ticket at the end of last year (before the award went up to 50k), and then Delta had to run a sale from LAX for $399 plus tax that I posted about last month.

I send my free ticket back in, and fly of to La-la Land to catch the first leg of my Delta flight. The seating is extra tight on the 767-400, but the FAs are pretty friendly.

When I get to Atlanta, I don´t have time to use the free internet in the club and have to go about as far as possible in the terminal (Start in terminal T, end at the end of E). No problem as they´re still in the middle of boarding. I checked before boarding, and my whole middle row is empty, which is great.

When the plane fills up, the 767-300 is only 40% full at best. The business section is pretty full, so I´m not sure if Delta elites got free upgrades or not. Since I´m a Northwest elite, I guess I´ll never find out. I don´t know if it´s just the slow season, or if this new route isn´t working for them. I hope it stays, as the more competition, the better, to BA. With Continental´s supposed entry in November, $500 or less fares from all the US would be great.

There are a bunch of Good ´Ol Boys a few rows behind me. They´re getting pretty rowdy, but settle down after an hour or so. After the meal service (pollo), I stretch out across the 3 seats, and try to keep my head in so it won´t get whacked by the serving cart. I actually manage to get an hour or so worth of sleep.

We get to BA about 10 minutes early, but have to wait 7 minutes for the gate people to come. Since the load is light, I breeze through customs and my luggage is already on the carousel. The change window at the luggage carousel looks to have a crappy rate. 2.62 x 1, I think. I recalled from last year, that the bank outside had a window just after the customs inspection.

I used that window (Often a line if you go in from the outside), and got 2.88. Probably not the absolute best rate, but the 14 pesos I had left over from last year weren´t going to last me long.

I had emailed Ana Luna a couple of weeks ago about picking me up. I always try to send some business to people who support the WSG, and she seemed pleasant in our email exchange. She actually quoted me 15 pesos, which I knew was wrong, and she replied that she had typed it wrong.

She was supposed to be waiting for me with a sign outside. I got outside at 8:40 and no Ana. I made the whole circuit to make sure she wasn´t hiding somewhere. I had the printout with her picture and phone number. I hung around for 10 minutes, but still no Ana. I´ve been up for 26 hours and am ready to go.

I find the locuturio in the terminal and call her cell number. First time, voicemail immediately. I call again to make sure I didn´t misdial the number. Same thing. Appears the phone is off. Sigh.

I go outside to make sure she isn´t waiting there. I get hit up by the taxi touts, (Wow, only 58 pesos! What a deal). Still no Ana. I go back inside, by this time I´m starting to get a headache. I make the circuit two more times and still no Ana. I decide to go to the drug store and get some ibuprofina. 2.98 pesos for a package of 10.

I make the circuit again. No luck. I go outside to see what my choices are. Normal taxi 48 pesos. Manuel Leon bus for 25, other taxi for 43. I go back inside one more time, but no Ana. It´s 9:20 now, and I´ve been out 40 minutes, and I have an appointment for my ByT apartment at 10. I take the 43 peso taxi, and head off to Recoleta.

(Footnote: Ana did email me later that day saying she was sorry that she missed me. She said she comes 20 minutes after scheduled arrival so was there during part of the time when I was looking for her, but I certainly never saw her. She is very cordial, but an extra 40 minutes playing ¨Where´s Ana¨ was not the fun I wanted after 14 hours of flying.)

Christ just the thought of watching him screw some helpless drugged chica is almost enough to make me go fag, or become an alternative lifestyle person, for the PC among us.

Maybe we should force him go with a chain smoking chica, and then drink a gallon of Quilmes out of her snatch. Then again, probably not.

For all the rest that insist on going there, here is something you can do when confronted with the "no price until drink" issue. Ask to speak to the Manager working, usually either Issac (tall black guy) or Danny (short white guy) and tell them what's going on. I used to take some guys with boatloads of money there and have spoke to both of them and I actually like Danny a lot. Each speaks English very well and both are very customer oriented, Danny more so than Issac. They can't really make the girls you were talking to come back and change but will get you a few that won't play this game.

I didn’t even think about that while I was there, but my guess is that she would retaliate with a quote somewhere along the lines of discounted airfare to Argentina. Then again, that’s probably better than being out 80 pesos for having to buy her a drink and not being able to come to an agreement.

Ask to speak to the Manager working, usually either Issac (tall black guy) or Danny (short white guy) and tell them what's going on. I used to take some guys with boatloads of money there and have spoke to both of them and I actually like Danny a lot. Each speaks English very well and both are very customer oriented, Danny more so than Issac. They can't really make the girls you were talking to come back and change but will get you a few that won't play this game.

She is working on her (now very tinny) tummy (hard to do since she has a 4 yr. old baby). Killer spinner/petite body. No tattoos, no piercings, eyes so beautiful you can't stop staring at them.

3rd Night Report from Bs. As.

A group of friends went out to eat at Sucre Restaurant. Great but expensive wine selection. Great food and the hostess was dressed like she worked in a club. P$84 per Head + Tip (total inlcuded 3 entrees, 2 wine bottles, main courses, coffee and dessert)

After that we ended up (against my better and informed opinion) in Black.

This situation has been reported already in the club section so I won't post it there.

Entry fee was an acceptable P$30 and it included a drink.

Inside, however, just to talk to a girl you had to buy her an P$80 drink. She wouldn't even give you a hint of her fee before you did this.

I knew they would start of by asking for US$300 or US$200 since I am an illustrated monger that researches this board and thanks every single one of you for your contributions. My friends didn't know about this.

So after trying to convince a couple of girls of disclosing a fee range, I convinced my friends that it really wasn't worth it and we left.

I was exhausted from last night's 2 hours with Celenne and was thinking about tomorrow's meeting with Anna so I didn't really care much, eventhough there were very beautiful girls this night in Black.

I counted like 4 or 5 Tens (and for me this is a slim but well endowed body PLUS a cute face) and the average was around 7 or 8.

At the time we arrived, around midnight, the place was so packed you could barely walk. Ratio girl to monger was around 3 to 1.

At 2am the ratio was 6 to 1 and the place was now half full only. This is when we left.

2nd Night in Bs. As.

First things first: Congratulations to Dickhead on such a remarkable achievement. May gaucho gal 100th be ATF grade.

On to the report.

I had scheduled Celenne of forum fame (you can see old pics of her in the photo gallery as well as in platynum) through Roxana. Celenne called about an hour before the scheduled time just to double-check. She arrived on time, dressed very conservatively as requested. There was a big conference tonight at the hotel I am staying at.

Once she saw me she remembered me and all was great from then on.

As cute and beautiful as ever, Celenne now sports green contacts and straw blonde hair. Nothing can diminish her natural beauty though. She just has that angel-like face and perfect spinner body men die for.

After the mini-bar bottle of champagne was drained the fun begun.

DFK, CBJ offered but rejected (it spoils the DFK for me). Multi-positions.

Initially scheduled for $150 + cab for 1 hour I paid $300 + cab for 2 hours without any problems (no discount, bummer, but worth every centavo).

Celenne is my ATF in any country. You will not regret it. Soft spoken, but little english, conversation was easy and fun.

Try scheduling through Roxana though. She told me she likes working through Roxana because it is always a sure thing. She is not taking much appointments through Platynum. She is trying to scale back a little so enjoy while it lasts folks!
