For our friend, it's all a matter of economics: The TVs in the park are "affordable", but the "persons of questionable sexual orientation" at the Marriott are simply more expensive than he is willing to pay.

Anything Milanese at El Establo is worth the trip. The Calamari is the best I have ever had and I live on the water. Enjoy.

I'll stand by my guns and state that the few times I've been in there it had more than its fair share of "Fagg's"
The hotel does have a great restruant down staires called the "Grill" as I recall and I recomend it, the best soup I've found in Argentina.
I frequent El Establo restaurant just two blocks from the Marriott normally sitting at the bar since your allowed to smoke and drink Beefeater's. Its very normal to see 2 or 3 tables of "Fagg's" in their having dinner together. And just one look you can tell by their mannerism's that their tourist's and "Queer's". I've always presumed they were quest's of the Marriott.

I have stayed at the Marriott on average twice a year for the last six years or so. Let me share my thoughts about the hotel.
Location: If you want to be in Centro and not Recoleta, the Marriott is ideally located.
Cost: Varies widely depending upon A. How you book; and b. If you have any type of corporate or affiliation {AAA} discount program. Typically, my company negotiates a global rate that is about 60% of the "standard" Marriott rate, while AAA gets about 25% to 30% off.
Chicas: Escorted by you into the hotel is no problem. If you ask a chica to come to your room, hotel management will ask her for her Argentina ID or passport and takes down this information. This is for your protection. If you get robbed for instance, the hotel security staff knows who did it. No ID, no entry. With ID, no problem and the hotel front desk calls you first.
Fags in the downstairs bar: I have a long standing respect for Exon and his numerous contributions and wisdom that he regularly shares. However, on this one point about fags, I respectfully disagree. The Marriott's reservation situation has changed meaningfully in the last three years with the advent of the cruise ship industry stopping regularly in BA. Many passengers use the Marriott when their cruise ship docks in BA and get special room rates. Thus, if you walk into the bar when a gay cruise ship is in port, you will notice this. In general though, I find mostly Columbians, Brits, and people from the SW US are in residence, as well as women from all over the world recovering from various plastic surgery procedures. The downstairs bar has always been a great meeting place, and they make world class Margarita's.
In short, I think the Marriott is a wonderful centro hotel option.

The Marriott would be my last choice for an upscale hotel in Buenos Aires.
Reason: Its full of "Fagg's",.
It seams the homosexual community of visiting sex tourist has, for some reason, adopted the Marriott as its head quarters.
Don't believe me? Go into the bar about cocktail hour and just sit and look around. The CockSuckers are everywhere!

Hey Musze,
What is the rate you got for a room at the Plaza? I am coming down in about three weeks and am looking for a good place to stay.
Thanks,

Hey Fellas!
New here and I did a search with no luck regarding if this place is chica friendly (Marriott Florida 1005)
Have to stay here also getting great corp rate; anyone know if this spot is chica friendly? One chica at a time is good for me so not loking at bringing up 2 at a time but it's always possibility!
Thanks,
Musze
