Posts: 3510Interesting article. A lot of petty sniping among neighbors, it seems. But I was not aware there were any 'speakeasies' in Buenos Aires. Speakeasies? WTF?

It's both, chicks can sell pussy and cops are corrupt. They ran that big bust in Las Passiones because there were a bunch of pimps running a bunch of girls out of there. Since the guy wasn't seeing an underage girl at the end of the day they can't prosecute because a chick is allowed to sell pussy and we are allowed to buy it.

It's still both though because if cops want to fuck with you, like the world over, they will fuck with you.

Posts: 13Can someone tell me if seeing escorts in bs.as is legal or illegal?
I'm confused. I always thought that it was legal. I never even questioned it. After reading this terrible story I want to know what is legal or illegal there. I never want a problem with the cops.
I tried searching what the law there says but can't find much.
I'm sure any info will help all of us who visit.

I have a similar episode with a good friend of mine in my place ,he was in the room with the girl and the police appear.
Ask her if be required or if a minor, check on whether drug possession and let out both.
Not having any legal problem and return to Argentina two more times .

I agree with the Admin.
The whole scenario it's risky now in BA. New laws are banning prostitution, and, as prostitution has been traditional, the Argies were in a gray in the middle of things.
Some boliches like Hook still open and operative, but quality downgraded and prices are going up.
Independent girls are supposed to work as prostitutes, but on the other hand, advertising is illegal.
It's also illegal (yet not enforced) to operate in a residential building.
In this midst of rights and wrongs the police may offer some "protection" like calling to let them know if they are going (this may be scheduled within a day in advance), so when they arrive there are no clients nor proofs.
For a non-resident like our friend, this can be only a bad time, but a resident, can be falsely charged and interrogated.

She's been indy forever, that's why I think it was either neighbor complaint or not paying cops.

Posts: 286Just to make sure, a good advice is to check first the fixed phone numbers with Google. If more than one escort (two at most) show up, that is a private apartment regardless what they claim in their announcements. Unfortunately we cannot check this in the case relevant to your bad experience.

Posts: 286Sorry to read about your nightmare. All of this goes into the direction of "slave traffic" fight, something that is promoted actively by the UN and related to womenss rights movements. It happens in some other countries as well. To me, the best way of avoiding this type of bad experiences is to contact independent escorts and avoid private apartments (which implies higher fares, of course). However, the independent escort scene offers lots of nice advantages regarding service quality, elastic time margins, a more personal and relaxed experience, etc. .
