I visited late in 2023 and didn't have any problems. I stayed in Recoleta, walked all over the city during the days but took the subway back after dark.
There are a lot more homeless around but I didnt see them bothering anyone. It is definitely safer than my hometown of Las Vegas NV.
Just use your senses, stay alert, and keep out of back alleys.
Unfortunately, many of my favorite restaurants , bars, live music venues, etc did not survive the pandemic.
I will be returning the last week in february for a month if anybody cares.

I too, would like to return, but the high poverty rate is a bit frightening. My experience around the world has been that a lot of poor folks turn to mugging and robbery, and one of the things that I really liked about BA was that it was a great walking city, if one was careful.

I'm also contemplating a trip to Bs As with a stopover in Lima. It's been at least eight years since I was in either of those cities.

I have not been to ba in at least 10 years.
I am thinking about visiting soon and a feel of current life with inflation and a new unusual president.

The new President:
Is he changing day to day life.
In Buenos Aires?
Runaway inflation?
When is the real meltdown.
Coming? Or has it already.
Happened?
