Like suppose Roxana's husband decides I am fucking his wife and he bribes an official and finds out what time I get off the train in Villa Rosa, then takes the day off work so he can catch me. I could come up with lots more scenarios but I am not comfortable in general with the (ever-increasing) degree of technology's ability to spy on us so no smart phone, face book, SUBE card, etc. For this particular private citizen.

Posts: 3510With the SUBE card the government tracks all your movements. No mother fucking way in god damn hell would I use it, even if I had to steal monedas from the cartoneros. BTW any cartonero will be happy to give you 1, 75 of coins for a 2 peso note. The cards for the subte are fine because they aren't linked to a name.

Posts: 3510They have the concepts of 'zafar' and 'fiaca' down to a fine science. 'Me agarró fiaca' is one phrase I hope to never hear again in my life.

Posts: 3510I dunno. They tip the 'volunteer' porters on the intercity buses. I would say 75% give something. It's not like Méxicans are lavish tippers or anything either. BTW here in the US the self checkout is the only way to go. That'll never happen in Argentina because of trust issues and unions.

Posts: 3510When I was living in México in 2003, in the state of Jalisco at least, the deal was that boys (only) between 12 and 14 work as baggers for tips only. They have to maintain good grades to do this. For those who don't know, public education stops at age 14 in México (or at least in Jaliso). Fucken Argie kids are much too lazy to do anything like that.

But still, there thinking is that the. 25 centavos per drink surcharge helps pay the electric bill.

P. S. Have you ever been to Jumbo and seen every single check-out lane backed up twenty deep? And they have about 30 lanes!
Add a few sackers!
